Day 01: Arrive Bangalore – Mysore, (144 km)
Upon arrival at Bangalore airport meet with our representative and leave for Mysore. Upon arrival check into the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel..
Day 02: Mysore – Ooty, 130 km
After breakfast sightseeing tour of Mysore. Mysore, 770 m above sea level, is the imperial city which was the erstwhile capital of the Wodeyars. The legend takes its name from a famous demon called Mahishasur, a great warrior who ruled as a tyrant until he was killed by the goddess Chamundeshwari. Mysore as we see today is most famous for the imposing Royal Palace with a magnificent Durbar Hall, particularly splendid during the Dussehra Festival when the Maharaja’s jewelry, studded gold throne (weighing 200 kgs) is on display. Chamundeshwari temple perched on a hilltop is 2000 years old, Nandi Bull half way to the hill is a 4.8 meter monolith. 19 km north-west of Mysore is the KRS Dam and the ornamental Brindavan Gardens. The musical fountains and colorful lights transform this place into a fairly land in the evenings. Evening transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Later in the evening leave for Ooty. Upon arrival check into the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 03: Ooty
Morning post breakfast we will go on half day sightseeing tour around Ooty visiting its botanical garden- The Government Botanical Garden, Udhagamandalm was established in 1848. The Gardens have around a thousand species, both exotic and indigenous, of plants, shrubs, ferns, trees, herbal and bonsai plants. In the centre of the Gardens lie a fossilized tree trunk estimated to be 20 million years old.
Also visit Ooty Lake – it is an artificial lake constructed by John Sullivan, in 1824. The water flowing down mountain streams in the Ooty valley was dammed to form the lake. The lake is surrounded by groves of Eucalyptus trees with a railway line running along one shore. During the summer season in May, boat races and boat pageantry are organised for two days.
Doddabetta peak- It is the second highest mountain in the Nilgiri Hills, at 2637 metres (8650 feet), after Anaimudi. There is a reserved forest area around the peak. It is a popular tourist attraction with road access to the summit.
Hindustan photo films factory – The HPF is not a usual fascinating tourist spot in Ooty but in fact is an industrial unit situated at a distance of about 5 km from the popular Ooty Railway Station. The Hindustan Photo Films covers an area of 300 acres and is known for manufacturing a number of film products.
Later return to the hotel for Lunch. Rest of the day at leisure and participate in the activities offered by the accommodation. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 04: Ooty – Connor – Ooty
After breakfast transfer to the railway station to board the hill train for Connor. From Ooty you can board daily train leaving at 9:15 am, 12:15 pm, 02:00 pm & 06:00 pm and while returning back from Connor you can board the train leaving daily at 07:45 am, 10:40 am, 12:35 am and 4:30 am.
Upon reaching Connor we will go for a half day tour around. Later in the evening return to Ooty. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 05: Ooty – Kodaikanal (255 kms)
Check out from hotel and drive to Kodaikanal in the morning. On arrival at Kodaikanal, check in at pre-booked hotel. In the evening you are free to have leisure time, followed by an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 06: Kodaikanal
Morning after breakfast you enjoy full day sightseeing tour of Kodaikanal. The tour includes a visit to Coaker’s Walk, 500 year old tree, Pamper Falls, (liril), Upper Lake View, Green Valley View, Golf Course, Pillar rocks, Guna cave, (Devils Kitchen), Pine Tree Forest, Shanthi Valley View, Bryant Park and Lake Boating. In the evening you are free to explore the local market. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 07: Kodaikanal – Madurai – Departure (115 kms)
Morning after breakfast drive to Madurai. Upon arrival transfer to the airport for onward connection.
